The Olympics begin this week in London. When I sat down in my Stamping Suite today I thought about Ralph Lauren making the Team USA uniforms. I found myself gravitating to one of my favorite new stamp sets – Lacy & Lovely with a Ralph Lauren color palate in mind. I just love the result.
The color blocking background gives this card a masculine feel that I just love. I also feel like it puts a flag in the background. For me, adding the River Rock to the Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse takes this color combination to the next level. It grounds the richness of the two colors with an earthly neutral. The Whisper White helps to give the card that pop that it needs to pull the whole thing together.
The circles are all punched out with the Cherry Cobbler ones popped up on dimensionals. I wanted to really go with the Team USA theme, so the banner is adhered down in spots with Snail adhesive and in other areas raised by dimensionals to give it the feel of a flag waiving in the air. In person it really looks awesome, it’s a little hard to see in the pictures, but overall it is a simple and cool effect. You could also use your bone folder to help the cardstock to naturally want to curl in that direction.
The Basic Pearl Jewel Accents are the perfect finishing touch to pull the card together. It has a clean feel to it, and I just love the end result – hope you do too!
