Punch it Up

I woke up to the birds chirping this morning, it feels like spring.  I decided to keep that feeling going today with the use of my 5 Petal Punch.  I love being able to use punches in multiple ways.  This simple card showcases the 5 Petal punch as a whole and 2/3rds.  The leaves are two petals punched out together – don’t worry about being perfect – the little extra overlap helps to secure it to the flower, and you can always trim it if needed.  I layered the 1/2 inch circle punch for the center of the flowers.

I love this color combination of So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Rose Red.  I made sure to leave lots of white space on this card to let the flowers really have an impact.  The set Baroque Motifs stamped tone on tone helped to create a pattern for my flowers and their centers.  The cherish saying is from the set as well.  Once I assembled the flowers, I used my fingers to help turn up the edges for a little dimension.  I left the leaves untouched so the flowers can really shine.  For that finishing touch, I added Celery Ribbon and popped up the saying in addition to one of the flowers.

Today my kit arrives, so I’ll finally have some new sets to stamp with!  I can’t wait!!  Be sure to check back to see me unpack!  New stamps, ink, paper – can’t wait!
