Lacy Influence

I just love the new 2012/2013 Stampin’ Up! catalog.  The new sets are great, but the new edgelits and dies for my Big Shot are even better.  I knew I would love the Big Shot system when I started, but I have no idea how much of a fanatic I would become!  This card just kind of came together for me and has quickly become one of my all time favorite cards that I’ve ever made.  The pictures do not do the colors justice.

This card is a bit deceptive too, while it looks simple, there is a lot of work involved in putting it together.  I used the builder wheels for the first time with the Travel Journal Script, and let me tell you – I am sold!  I LOVE these wheels.  I chose not to layer them with any other design other than themselves.  Yes, I bought three of the same builder to create a jumbo wheel with the script – I can already tell that it will quickly become a favorite background of mine.  To give the strip more depth, I sponged it with all three colors – So Saffron, Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze.  This close up gives you a better look.

I used the linen thread wrapped around several times, and I think my card I will color my linen thread with the Always Artichoke or Cajun Craze marker for some more added pop.  That one of the things I love about the neutral fibers – you can adjust if you want to!  The background is the Lacy and Lovely Stamp Set, which rocks.  I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits and new Delicate Doilies Sizzlits.  I love that as a background – not as much to pop out and such a cool piece.  I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little added flair.

I decided to add the 1/16th layer matte of the Very Vanilla – the card needed it for the perfect finish.  I created what I call the cross with the Decorative Label Punch and the coolest frame from the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The Basic Pearl Jewels were the perfect finishing touch.

I hope you love this card as much as I do – if you want to make a few, come join me in the Stamping Wing for class this month!
