World Card Making Day Weekend

It’s that time of year – World Card Making Day, and I thought this year….why not inspire you with projects all weekend long? Let’s kick it off today with a quick clean and simple card. I’m in love with angles and lines at the moment. So I thought it would be fun to get a little crooked today…

This card is pretty straight forward. To duplicate it, stamp your favorite background stamp  – I used the new Peppermint Stick Background by Catherine Pooler Designs. For a muted look, use a deep red on kraft. Use the same color red for your candy canes. Now you can stamp these on white – but I thought I’d keep them deep red to symbolize love a little better.

Did you know that if you criss cross facing candy canes they form a heart? Now you see it, don’t you! I layered multiple patterns, added a little holly & berries and stamped a cute sentiment. Keep it real simple – no sequins or embellishments. It helps to focus on the dies, angles and patterns.
