Creative Tips Video Series - Project #2

Welcome back!  Today I thought we'd explore a little more masking with a great clean and simple one layer card.  This project makes the most out of a half of a sheet of paper using just the basics. It would work for just about any occasion and would make a great gift as a little stack of cards with multiple sentiments.

Enjoy the simplicity of this project and I'll see you again in a few days!

Creative Tips and Photos

Card Stock:

  • Whisper White card stock is cut – 8 1/2” x 5 1/2″
  • The printer paper mask is cut the same, but you can also use a 1/2 sheet - 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”

Supplies - this project uses Stampin’ Up:

  • Ultrasmooth Whisper White Card Stock
  • Stampin’ Sponges
  • Classic Ink Pads – Crushed Curry, Soft Sky, Early Espresso
  • Markers - Crushed Curry, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Soft Suede
  • Stamps – Lovely as a Tree, Four You

Tips -

  • When creating your mask, cut a space 2 x 4" into your paper.
  • You will want 3/4" top, left and right of your space on the front of your card.
  • If it's easier for you, use the 1/4 sheet that matches the measurement of your card front - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2", and work on your project while it's folded.
  • If you work on it while unfolded, be sure to cover the top portion when pouncing the blue as it's quite easy to get ink onto spaces that aren't covered with a mask. - just from my own personal experience!
  • When stamping your generational forest in Crushed Curry - be sure to stamp off first, so that your ink is lighter in the background.
  • You will also want to stamp your image to the left, that way when you stamp your multi-colored image, you can stamp in the center without worrying about muddying up your image with a background stamped in the exact space.
