Star Light, Star Bright…Make a Wish Tonight

Do you ever just look up at the stars in the evening and make a wish?  This is the perfect card for anyone – men included, using the Evergreen Stamp Set.  Using my brayer and several shades of blue I’ve created the perfect starry night sky over an evergreen forest with the moon shining brightly below.

Creative Tips –

• The new Deco Label Framelits provide a good brayering space for a normal A2 sized card.  It gives you enough space to work and has the beautiful decorative label look to it.   I used the largest #4 size.
• To make sure that the moon lit my forest, I needed to make sure to watch the angle of my brayer.  I created a moon using my 1” Circle Punch and laid it down as a mask.
• To lay a light foundation, I began brayering my Whisper White shape in Soft Sky from various angles.  I kept the middle as white as I could as I layered color after color.
• Next I used Tempting Turquoise to brighten it up a bit followed by Marina Mist.
• I didn’t want the dark colors to overtake my image too much so I limited them to the ends and was careful how deep into my image I allowed them to be brayered.
• My darker colors went down in this order – Island Indigo, Midnight Muse, and Elegant Eggplant.
• Several times my project was getting a bit dark, so I would lighten it a tiny big with some Tempting Turquoise.
• Once my project was as dark as I wanted it, I stamped my three evergreen trees in Night of Navy.
• For my starry sky, I used my Signo White Gel Pen and made a few bigger and brighter using my White Craft pad and a Qtip.
• The tops of the trees were highlighted using the Signo White Gel Pen as well.
• My saying was put onto a banner which I made with the 1” Square Punch.
• I used the same size Deco Framelit cut into 4 quadrants and stretched it for a matte.  The Framelit is layered onto a piece of Smoky Slate which has it’s corners pierced and some bands stamped using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.
