Christmas Video Hop + Prizes!

Justine Hovey's 12 Days Of Christmas Series

Today I have a cute little project using the new Simon Says Stamp set Give Thanks – yes for a Christmas card! Don’t you just love using stamp sets that work for more than just one holiday?! And I’m also participating in a fun little video hop to help kick off my friend Justine Hovey’s 12 Days of Christmas series this year plus there are prizes too! It’s her fourth series, and I can’t wait to see what she’s created! SO much fun.

Justine always has fun blog and video hops. Each person in the hop has a unique question for you. You need to watch each video, answer the various questions on each person’s channel to be entered to win! Don’t forget to subscribe along the way too – there are some GREAT card designers along the way. And this hop, sponsored by Simon Says Stamp has some cool prizes – gift certificates by Simon Says Stamp (one of my go to places to shop), a MISTI tool giveaway by My Sweet Petunia – enough said, and my favorite prize… a 10 pack of hand made cards by Justine herself. So sit back, enjoy all the fun and learn a little along the way!

Some pretty creative people participating today, so be sure to subscribe to everyone’s YouTube channels as well! For a full list on hop participants – be sure to check out my video over on YouTube here! Leave comments along the way to be eligible for prizes and enter the giveaway over on Justine’s channel!

  1. Thank you for the video and all the tips you shared. Your card is lovely; I love the background.

  2. Thanks for sharing your talent. I’m just starting to create ink backgrounds. It’s hard to choose a favorite cookie, while growing up I would also enjoy when my mother made raisin pineapple cookies.

  3. Margaret Page says

What a beautiful card. Love the sparkle.

  4. Great card and instruction. My fave Christmas cookie is either the Neiman Marcus chic chip cookie or the Doubletree Choc chip cookie. Both of them are quite a bit more work than your regular cookie so I don’t normally take the time but will at Christmas to include them in my food baskets to closest friends 😊

  5. Beth Showman says

My favorite Christmas cookie is the frosted sugar cookies. Loved your card!

  6. Jo Roberts says

Love all the glitter! My fav cookie is shortbread dipped in dark chocolate.

  7. Jan Monforton says

Great Christmas card Ingrid. You made that look quick and easy. Great seeing all the different cards on the hop. My favourite Christmas cookies are Whipped Shortbread.

  8. Thank You for putting me down as someone who was able to subscribe to your site. I’m loving everything I see. Plus, it’s helping me learn.
Oh, my favorite cookies are soft butter cookies. 😋

Your card is just fabulous ! My favorite Christmas cookie is sugar cookies. Ginger cookies coming in a close second.

  10. Very gun card. I was impressed how you stamped the background. Why don’t I think of ways like this to spruce up my cards ??!! I love the glitter and sequins as each of my cards seems to always have that bling effect too 🙂
Thanks for sharing with us. Happy Holidays.

Very cute card, but I don’t recall you mentioning your favorite Christmas cookie. Or did I miss it? My favorite Christmas cookie is gingerbread people. Not only do they taste wonderful, but they are soooo much fun to decorate!!! Have a blessed day!

Pretty card! Snickerdoodles are my favorite Christmas cookies.

  13. Nutmeg Log Cookies
    3 cups flour
    2 sticks room temp butter
    1 teas. ground nutmeg
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg, 2 teas. vanilla
    1 tablespoon rum (or flavoring)
Preheat over to 350. Crease 2 large cookie sheets.
Mix flour and nutmeg – use whisk. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Add egg, vanilla and rum, Combine well.
Gradually add flour mixture until well blended.
I use tablespoon to get dough on floured counter, roll or pinch into 1/2″ log about 3 inches long. Place on cookie sheet, about 2′ apart. Bake 10 min just till edges/undersides begin to brown. Cool on wire rack.
Cream icing ingredients: 3 Tblsp room temp butter, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1 teas rum. Beat 2 & 1/2 cup confectioner sugar alternately with 2-3 Tblsp cream. Spread over COOL logs running fork tines lengthwise down log to resemble tree bark. Sprinkle with more ground nutmeg. Makes about 2 dozen – get out your fat pants! LOL

  14. Christmas cookie are pfeffernusse. Such a terrific card. Love all the blending and glittery goodness.
