Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval: Celebrate Friends Blog Hop Day Three

Celebrate Friends SOA

Welcome, thanks for joining me today for the Celebrate Friends Stamp of Approval Blog Hop – Day 3!! Chances are you’ve been hopping along for three days and I’m the very last stop on the hop! You probably came over from Tracie Pond’s blog – I love her creative talents, and she did some pretty cool cards, right? I promise to make it worth your while. I just made myself my morning latte and thought I sip along while I write you a little about all the fun contained in this great box.

This Stamp of Approval is a bit different than the 12 before, in that you have a choice. Yup, you read that right – you get your choice between Tea and Coffee. And if you just can’t choose, then you can get both too! Here’s how the collection works:

There’s a base collection of the following:

Then here’s what you get to choose from:

Celebrate Friends with CoffeePerfect Blend Stamp Set & Morning Joe Border Dies

OR…

Cuppa Tea Stamp Set & Bordering Sweet Border Dies

There are also 4 add-on die sets for those of you who LOVE cookie cutter craft dies plus the refill for the Mystery Ink (you’ll want that for sure)

If you are one that has to have it all, there’s a box option for just that too – yup – coffee + tea + add-ons.

If you would like to see all the pieces, be sure to stop by Catherine’s YouTube channel – she’s got them all in one video so you can see the sets.

So when can you get all this caffeinated goodness? StampNation members will get the first chance to buy the collection in the LIVE Pajama Party online tonight – it starts at 9 pm EST! If you aren’t a StampNation member, then be sure to get on the waitlist HERE if you haven’t already. Tomorrow morning, for the remaining SOA boxes, the purchase link will be sent by email to all waitlist members. If any are left (sometimes it sells out in just a few hours), the public will be able to order directly from the shop at 6 PM EST, Tuesday the 24th.

So, now that you know all the specifics…how about some creative inspiration?

I thought it would be fun to dive right in…

My love affair with Coffee

My parents are tea drinkers mostly, and the occasional cup of coffee. My brother is addicted to coffee – his love affair started at age 12. My first taste of coffee goes all the way back to the summer of 1986 in Cefalu, Italy, and is firmly etched in my memory.

My little brother had been sneaking coffee after church for years, and I always thought it was, well to be honest, gross!  So I had to find out what was so mystical about the coffee there in Italy, and if it was different. After all, drinking coffee seemed like such an adult thing to do, and I couldn’t wait to grow up.

We were finishing out three weeks in Italy by spending a week at a beach resort in Sicily.  One afternoon I was determined to try coffee – Italian Coffee. I’d been watching Italians for two weeks now sip this curiously dark brown beverage and it seemed like the thing to do.

It was a gorgeous mid-afternoon in July, and everyone was either out at the pool or laying down by the rocky beach. I wandered up to the empty hotel bar, and confidently ordered myself un Caffe in Italian. I watched in amazement as deep dark brown fluid filled a little bone colored china cup. I offered a grazie to the bartender as he reached across the bar and delivered my gorgeous beverage. It was topped with the most creamy medium brown crema (froth) and you could just smell the deep roast of the beans fill the air.

Well, first off here’s a tip for when you’re in Italy – Caffe really means espresso.  Of course, I was expecting a regular cup of coffee, but I was the only one in the bar, and the bartender was looking right at me. I didn’t want to seem like that wasn’t what I meant, so I confidently sat there like I knew what I was doing.

I took a sip from the small espresso cup, and tried to hide what I really thought. It was incredibly bitter to me, but I was determined to sit there and drink every last drop. So what would any teenager do? Add 4 sugar cubes! Stop laughing, I am actually chuckling as I write this.

I’ve never forgotten that afternoon, and my first real taste of coffee. I thanked the bartender and went back to the beach proudly telling my little brother I just had my first Espresso! When we got home and my brother got his next contraband coffee drink after church, I remember telling him, that’s not coffee, at least not how it’s supposed to taste! And from that moment on, I couldn’t bring myself to drink regular “coffee”, only espresso based drinks. Oh, I’ve tried – as recently as a year ago, and I just can’t drink the “watered down” version!

A few years later while I was in college at the University of Utah, my love affair with espresso continued. My best friend Jen and I would jump into her little white Mazda Rx7 every time it rained and grab a Cappuccino or Mocha. I shortly thereafter bought my first Espresso Machine, and I haven’t looked back since. Today, I’m on my 5th machine, start every morning with a latte and every time it rains I do still want a Cappuccino – and of course I always think of Jen.

Friends and coffee – it’s a great thing. I always meet friends over coffee – well, lattes & Cappuccinos for me. I actually love to go to little mom & pop cafe’s – there aren’t enough around! I start every morning off with my latte (Italian Beans of course). And when I’m in Italy, I always have my little Caffe or Macchiatos (between a Caffe and Cappuccino) – and I’ve finally gotten to the point where I don’t need sugar there.

Be sure to tell me in the comments when YOU first tasted coffee, I’d love to know. Now that I’ve made you all want a Cappuccino, how about a little creative inspiration? Here are a few fun little cards…

Celebrate Friends Project #1

As you know from my little story above, I’m all about espresso. So when I saw this little espresso Perkolator, this set had my heart. This card features the Perfect Blend Stamp set, Add-on Dies set, Morning Joe Border Dies (LOVE those), and the perfect little accent – Scattered Circles Stencil.

Celebrate Friends Stamp of Approval

Celebrate Friends Project #2

If you’ve been hopping along the past three days – you’ve seen lots of party cards using the Woohoo stamp set. Well, here’s one to show you that those little party hats and fun extra stamps can be used for Christmas too! Bet you didn’t think you’d see a Christmas card today, huh?

Celebrate Friends Coffee Stamp of Approval Woohoo stamp set

The scattered circles stencil offers the perfect random amount of circles for embossed snow or to add texture in the background. I used Whipped Spackle and Wanderlust Embossing Powder for a cool glittery snowy texture to the back behind the scene. I just love this fun little card. And the amount of sentiment options in the woohoo stamp set are just insane!

Celebrate Friends Project #3

I’ll admit – this stamp set – Punctuated Party – has my heart too. These circles and just overall feel to this set is SO much fun. It’s totally a party, so that’s where this card came from.

Celebrate Friends Stamp of Approval

Isn’t that pom-pom banner just fun? I love all the colors of the Party Collection Inks too – they go so well together. The edges are one of the Morning Joe border dies.

I hope that peeked your interest in the collection a little bit! I have more to share with you tomorrow at 6 pm, so be sure to stop back by.

Not only loving your cards, yes even Christmas, but loving your coffee story also ,very funny to think of you sitting with your neat espresso, I do drink both but only like weak red labelled original Kenco coffee, milk one sugar or Tetley tea, milk one sugar, I’m not a snob with my drinks it took me ages to find brands I like but iced tea, lemon, I will drink by buckets xxxxx

  2. Barbara Oliver says

    Love your cards, Ingrid

  3. Diane Durbin says

I just loved that you made a Christmas card with this stamp set! The first card is just lovely and the third one is so bright and happy.

  4. Linda Steinbaugh says

Great cards and I love your story about Italian coffee!

  5. Oh my goodness!!! So much fun packed in one collection. Love, love love!
I started drinking coffee in college. First time out I drank a whole pot and got sick. That didn’t stop me though, but now i can only drink frilly coffees that don’t taste like coffee (peppermint mochas, raspberry mochas, frappaccinos, or just lots of milk and sugar).

  6. I am FLOORED! So incredible!

  7. Coffee and beautiful stamps to color up with yummy CP inks? Fantastic! Great designs. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Thanks for the fun story………I am excited to get my hands on that stencil too. So many fun ideas. Thanks for sharing,

  9. Loved your personal coffee history tale! And the coffee-coloured card that goes with it.
I would not have thought of those party hats as trees, but the circles make great big wet snowflakes. The last of THAT STUFF just melted up here, so I’m in no hurry for wintery inspiration (despite the cuteness of your card).
LOVE the last one! So cheery!
    Thanks for the inspiration.

    • LOL Caroline. I could live in the snow all year round. I never tire of it. I”m glad you enjoyed my little story and cards – even if I put that dreaded stuff on it…lol! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  10. Diane Loughrey says

I think I figured out the new color, maybe mocha brown. Just a total guess. Guess I’ll find out soon enough. I’m never right and I’m probably way off.

  11. Sue McRae says

What a great group of cards! I especially like the clever way in which you created your wintry scene!

  12. So much fun…coffee and polka dots…my faves!

  13. I’m all about coffee and polka dots…enough said!

  14. Loved your story Ingrid! I have a similar one with my first cup! Trying to be cool in public all the while thinking you might not make it to the bottom of the cup! However I’m hooked TOO!
Thank you for sharing your card ideas….I always try to hit you blog first…I’m always so excited to see what you’ve done….you always inspire me…

    • Oh thank you Cathy!!! I’m honored. 🙂 I chuckled when I read your comment. It’s SO true right? Too cool! 😉 Thanks for stopping by again. Glad you enjoyed the projects.

  15. Colleen Reilly says

I love all your card ideas you posted

  16. Kathy Doyle says

Love your cards! You are right, I never thought of Christmas cards when looking the these stamp sets! Great cards!

  17. Denise Bryant says

Awesome cards! I love this collection! Both the coffee and tea sets are fabulous!

  18. Great story, Ingrid! I have a similar story, but not with coffee. I started drinking coffee in college, now I’m a fullblown addict, the stronger the better! Love your cards and the multifunctional use they have.

  19. I learned to drink coffee during my semester abroad in France. I also had a hard time drinking regular coffee after espresso. Strong and black! Loving the new SOA and that Christmas card is awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  20. What fabulous cards once again. I can hardly wait.

  21. Jodie Ramdas says

Wow a Christmas card! Amazing! I love the 3rd project the most! All the party colours with this stamp set are a match made in heaven! I cannot wait to get this box.

  22. Beautiful cards & an awesome story as well! Love the coffee theme! I didn’t start drinking coffee till I was well into my 30’s as, I’m ashamed to say, I was addicted to having a great big Pepsi first thing every day. Then I weaned myself off & drank tea for a few years. Now I’m heavy into coffee but I do like it with cream! At least a couple times a day!

    • Nothing to be ashamed of Patt! I drank my share of Diet Pepsi in my 20s…lol. Course today it’s a latte first thing…lol. So glad you loved them. Thanks for sharing with me! 🙂

  23. I love your story. My first coffee was when my Mom sent me to an elderly friends home to help her spring clean her kitchen cupboards. I was about 12 years old and, after a couple of hours, she must have noticed me starting to lag so she made me a cup of coffee. It was about one quarter coffee and three quarters milk. It was one of the most wonderful things I have ever tasted.
Ok. I’m lovin’ the coffee stamp set. It will always remind me of our friend and my first cup of coffee. Thank you for that.

    • Awe Pam, you brought tears to my eyes with that. I love that you made a connection with that. It’s a great set, you’ll love it. Thanks for sharing that story with me, I loved hearing it. What a great memory! 🙂

  24. colette dry says

love all three. so much fun in them

  25. Loved your story. I first tasted coffee as a five year old. My mother was convinced that I needed a hot drink every morning before school. I hate chocolate and rejected the Horlicks, Nesquik, Ovaltine and others she tried. Out of desperation, she gave me coffee and I became hooked. As a teenager, I added Coca Cola to my diet, and by the time I was at university, I was able to go three days without the need to sleep. I finally ditched the coffee in my late 20s and I’m a tea lover now. Love the gorgeous color palettes on your cards. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

  26. Wow! You certainly got what you asked for! Loads of coffee stories. Lol! I love the first card, even though I never was a coffee drinker until I tried flavored coffee 7 years ago (when I was 55 yrs old!). For me, it’s more like having a little coffee with my cream! Haha.

  27. Kathleen Mack says

Beautiful collection! Your cards are awesome!

  28. Melody Moore says

Thanks for sharing your coffee story. I don’t drink coffee but I absolutely LOVE the smell of fresh ground coffee beans (I would wear it as perfume if they made it, lol). Your cards are fantastic and I love the out-of-the-box Christmas card idea! Thanks!!

  29. I love the story of your first taste of coffee in Italy and as always your cards are great. You definitely caught me by surprise when i scrolled down to that Christmas card. My husband often sees stamps as something else because his desk is on the other side of the room (OK, so it’s really tucked behind the door but at least he is not still on the porch) so when he walks by the craft table everything is upside down. I know what the stamps are so I am not as good at being creative when I look at them upside down.

  30. Glenda Lee Nutting says

Love, love, love your cards. Especially the third one. I’m really drawn to those cool circle stamps!

  31. Teresa Rawnick says

LOVE all your cards. All gorgeous. I love your creativity & thinking outside the box. I adore all the new stamps, dies and especially that new dotted stencil. Love this new SOA collection

  32. Roberta Eldridge aka Roberta's Artistic Adventures says

Love the color combinations in your cards, Ingrid! So colorfully fun! TFS!

  33. Brenda Gentry says

Ingrid, you just ALWAYS hit it out of the park!!! I am almost speechless!!! The first one with the browns is adorable!!! I am not a coffee or tea drinker but I love that percolator too!!! I am just amazed by the Christmas card too and that last one is so bright and cheerful! I love that pom pom border and this is the first time, I think, that I have seen it used. I love it!!! Thanks for sharing such wonderful cards with us. Your talent just me!!!

  34. Ingrid, Hi! Love the coffee grinder and colour! SOA Celebrate Friends collection is going to be great fun to create cards with. Excitement and anticipation on the upper!

  35. Sarah Greber says

Ingrid – I really like ALL of your cards! I’m glad to see you use the scattered stencil over and over because I’m loving it! And of course the holiday theme version. It actually works perfectly, and the dots of snow! So much FUN! I will keep checking back to see what other creative items you post from this set.

  36. Denise Mlady says

I love the stencil, I think it is very versatile. Fun how you used the stamp for Christmas trees, it made me think of ice cream cones. I don’t drink coffee but I do like hot chocolate!

  37. Melissa Truhn says

The third card is so out of the box — and gorgeous. Thank you for inspiring me to look at my tools/supplies differently.

  38. Leanne in Cali says

Love your coffee story and your cards! I was 17 when I started trying coffee (with sugar of course). Now no sugar, but definitely creamer. Can’t wait to get these products!! Thanks for sharing on the blog hop.

  39. Wendy Hughes says

Wow this collection is sooo versatile. Love love love how creative you were making the Christmas card! So clever

  40. Iris Soscia says

Such cute and clever cards. I first tasted coffee as a very little girl when I would sit on my Dad’s lap and dunk my saltine cracker into his cup of black coffee. I thought it was delicious. What a sweet Dad.

  41. Ann Cifaldi says

Ingrid I am so glad I was not the only one thinking about Christmas cards with this SOA box. Your cards are awesome as usual you always do wounderful job on your cards! All you ladies always out do yourself for all of us and I thank you so much!

  42. Wonderful cards and I enjoyed your coffee story. My first (and only) cup was in college and it kept me up all night. Unfortunately I did not want or need to stay up so I never had coffee again (I love my sleep) although I love the smell.

  43. Senora Stockton says

I love your 3 cards especially the Christmas one! Our weather has sure been like Christmas type weather til here recently. Great job!

  44. Marcia L Rollins says

Party hats as Christmas trees! Who ‘da thunk? So cute!

  45. You did a great job on your cards. They are so unique. I was very young when I started drinking coffee because it was what the grown-ups drank and I wanted to be a “grown-up.” I drank half milk and half coffee then. They would tell me if I drank coffee I would turn black inside. Now I drink way too much coffee, but it keeps me going.

  46. Theresa Robinson says

Love all three of your cards Ingrid!

  47. Sharon Nesvog says

Hello Ingrid!! Firstly….I just LOVE LOVE LOVE your cards!! You are a creative genus!! 🙂 From the rich neutral tones…to the bright and fun tones…your cards just ‘rock’!!

About coffee? Well….I tried it once…and that was just once too often!! lol It’s the weirdest thing though….I absolutely ADORE the smell of freshly ground coffee beans! I could sit and smell it all day long! And the smell of breshly brewing coffee? I love that smell too! 🙂 But I just about gag when I smell coffee that has been sitting in a cup 🙁

I now tell people that I’m not old enough to drink coffee!! lol At the ripe old age of 56….I’m still not old enough!

I’ve also been told that I make a lousy Norwegian! lol Well…if all it takes to be a lousy Norwegian is to not drink coffee…well I guess that’s me! I do love Norwegian lefse….so I’m hoping that makes up for it!! lol 😛 🙂

Thanks for sharing your fun coffee story! Your painted a very good picture!

    • Too funny Sharon! I always struggle when there’s coffee and cake or going to a tea, I don’t drink them either. Not everyone has an espresso machine and now everyone has Keurigs – so I say I’ll take a Cappuccino, but it’s not the same out of those…lol. Not very German of me either…lol. I’m so glad you loved those cards! I had fun making them. The ideas keep perkolating….lol. 🙂

      • Sharon Nesvog says

percolating!!!! LOL!! 🙂 That IS a good one!!! Got an out-loud guffaw from me!!! I wouldn’t call myself a connoisseur of tea either…but I do have the occasional cuppa! So I’ll do some ‘steeping’ once I get my collection! Of course…I GOTTA HAVE IT ALL!!! The add-on dies as well! The only trouble is…in Cdn $’s…it’s very expensive…and then customs nails me when I pick my parcels up from the Post Office! 🙁 But it’s all worth it! 🙂 Happy stampin’ and perkin!! lol 😉

        • Glad to keep you in stitches…lol. My dad drinks tea from sun up to sun down. I couldn’t even tell you how many gorgeous tins of it he has…lol. I always want to steal those – even as a kid – they’re so cool! I hear you about the exchange rate. Only way to help with that is wait till they’re in the shop and then get them from the Canadian stores…though you’d have to remain steeping while everyone is playing…lol. 😉 Having lived in Germany – I’m ALL to familiar with the customs office kidnapping my stuff and holding it for ransom…lol. Enjoy those fun sets! 🙂

          • Sharon Nesvog says

Oh my!!! You continue to keep me in ‘stitches of laughter’ Ingrid!! LOL 🙂 I could wait til the collections appear in the Canadian shops, but I’m too impatient! lol I don’t want to wait that long! The local craft store here in Nanaimo did sign up at CHA this year to have CPD products in her store, however, like I said…I usually have them in my own stash, long before they show up there. She doesn’t carry all the product either…so I guess I’ll just have to pay those ‘ransom’ 😉 $’s and be quiet about it! lol Thanks again….and I’ll just keep steepin’ til I get my new SOA Collection in the mail! Hope you’re having a wonderful day! 🙂

  48. Cheryl Fleming says

Love how you made a Christmas one!! Neat idea!!
    And love the colorful circles!!

  49. I really love all three of your cards. You definitely look outside the box and I really love that. I can’t wait to play with the Celebrate Friends SOA.

  50. Ingrid, you mad genius! I wouldn’t have thought of Christmas trees at all, but I love that little scene! It’s so adorable, and it’s always useful to have Christmas cards around before the season really gears up. I also love the color combos on all your cards.

Um, I’ve never actually had coffee, so I don’t have a story to share of that. However, my grandma drank coffee, so we would have it in the cupboard when she came to visit, and when we were little we always called it “Grammy’s Very Hot” because we knew it was going to be very hot, so we shouldn’t touch it! So all coffee is “Very Hot” to me. 😀

  51. Great cards. Thanks for thinking outside of the box and sharing your idea with us.it’s easy to just stick with a stamps original form.we have options.

  52. I love your cards, each different in their own way!
Your story was a great one – and reminded me of my sister’s visit last year to Italy where they had to learn the coffee/espresso rituals!
My Mom always drank black coffee, I tired it as a kid but unless it had sugar and milk in it I couldn’t drink it. Fast forward to the 90’s and a new coffee shop in my town and I tried a latte. Yum. No sugar needed! My favorite Italian restaurant has the best cappuccinos ever, so I do enjoy those on occasion.

  53. Oh Ingrid… I love love love your creativity. Your coffee story too. My parents were big coffee drinkers. I loved the smell but not the taste, they drank it black. I didn’t pick up the habit until one winter my parents were due to visit so I bought some coffee to be prepared for their visit. When I proudly offered coffee, my dad informed me that they had quit drinking it! SO after they left I decided I didn’t want to waste it so made myself some. After I cream-and-sugared it I discovered it could be quite tasty… Still drinking it!

    • Oh that’s TOO funny! My dad once so proudly gifted me a coffee and tea machine when I was 21. I said, uh…thanks?!! Dad, it’s YOU who drinks coffee/tea, you know I don’t…lol. He said – well…maybe someday someone who visits will want a cup! Your story made me think of that…lol. Too funny. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to share with me.

  54. Love them – so cute and love your story!

  55. Linda Kaucher says

Absolutely love the Perks you up Card! Beautiful!

  56. Mary Heilner says

What fun cards. Leave it to Ingrid to show us how to use our SOA all Sean’s long 😉. Thanks Ingrid.
Believe it or not, my first coffee was the morning I went into labor in my first pregnancy. Couldn’t get enough and haven’t stopped since. That was 47 years ago.

  57. These cards are adorable! I was in my forties before I had my first cup of coffee but now my
    morning doesn’t start without 1 maybe 2.

  58. Dee Earnshaw says

awesome cards – thanks for the ideas:)

  59. Michelle Hackett says

These are lovely cards Ingrid. My first taste of coffee I was around 6 years old. We drove to Valdosta, GA for a vacation. It’s where my grandma lived. Our breakfast each morning, adults and children, consisted of grits, toast in the oven, and a cup of coffee. I loved it. I would dip the crust of my toast in the coffee and eat it. I love coffee to this day. My other Nana, who lived in Buffalo, NY was a tea drinker. So when I would visit her, I would drink tea. Wonderful memories for me, since they are both gone now. Thank you for sharing your story.

  60. Kim Goodmanson says

Fabulous cards, you are so creative! I think this SOA is one of the best and I haven’t even ordered yet! Thanks for the inspiration!

  61. Linda Kaucher says

I am trying not to spend any more money on supplies but each time I see the beautiful cards made from the new SOA’s, I cave and spend the $$$$. Beautiful cards.

  62. I enjoyed your coffee story. Those colors you put together in your last card are happy colors. They’re just so cheery.

  63. Love your fun cards!

  64. June Sefscik says

Love all your creative ideas with this new collection. I love coffee too and can’t wait to try out that new set and the new color

  65. Elizabeth Bielicki says

    WOWZERS!!! Love your cards!!!

  66. Carla Hundley says

    Darling coff story. I don’t
drink coffe, but I love the
smell of it. Your cards are
    so fun and pretty.
    Carla from Utah

  67. Tasha Dawson says

Oh my goodness. How fun are these cards!! Cannot wait to play!!

  68. Jina Winston says

    Your cards are amazing!

  69. Joanne Guarino says

Loved your story about your first real coffee. I have a friend who was born in Italy and came to the U.S. when she was 4. We worked together and I was at her home often. She taught me how to drink espresso. When I first saw the coffee set of stamps I thought of her. She gave me an espresso pot just like the stamp and I still have it. Haven’t made espresso in a long time. So I knew I would get this set. But I also am a tea drinker so…I’m getting both! Love your cards, Ingrid and as always you threw in a surprise with the Christmas card! That is so adorable! Thanks for sharing!

    • Joanne, Thanks so much for sharing that! You HAVE to make her a set of espresso cards. Now that I write this, I think I’ll make Jen a set and send them to her too. It’s going to rain here shortly, so of course I’m thinking of her…lol. Glad you loved the Christmas one. So many possibilities in that set! 🙂

  70. Sherry French says

    First off
Christmas trees … I can’t even… Never saw that coming just love it!
Perks card is just Beautiful! Love the tag with the frayed twine such a nice look.
It’s your day care definitely “speaks” Party.
I always forget I can curve border stamps for a different look.
Thanks for inspiring me to get more creative.

  71. Nana Griffin says

Absolutely love your cards! A great twist for a Christmas card too. I do not like coffee and do not remember when I tried it first, a few times though. Hot chocolate works for me though.

  72. Great cards, Ingrid. Love that first one and the Christmas cards is such a nice surprise as well. Also loved reading your coffee story. I was almost 14 and my (youngest) sistes almost 16 when we spent a holiday with my parents in Luxemburg. We regularly dined at the hotel next to the camp site where we were staying in a large mobile home. One evening, we noticed 2 French girls of about the same age enjoying a brown dessert served in a tall glass with whipped cream and a straw. Assuming the brown stuff was chocolate, my sister and I decided we wanted that same dessert. As you probably guess already, our chocolaty desert was in fact iced coffee. It took a while before I could appreciate coffee, but right now my husband and I are anxious to buy a new full automatic espresso machine, since our old one broke down after 10 years of faithful service. And we are longing for our superior Spanish coffee that we personally import from Barcelona. It’s not bitter at all and has less than 1% caffeine (by nature). Here in Crete, I have discovered freddo cappucino, just perfect on hot summer days.
    Marianne x

    • That’s awesome Marianne! What a great story. I could see how that drink would look tempting. 10 years is a good life. I use mine every day, so I definitely get my money’s worth out of them. I’ll have to try some beans from Barcelona the next time I’m there! My father was just visited Crete last week. I’ll have to check out freddo cappucino too. So glad you loved the cards! I figured the Christmas one would be fun to see how to stretch your party stamps. 🙂

  73. Sharon Perehudoff says

Ingrid, you always amaze me with your ideas and creativity for card making. Love all your cards they are awesome. Thank you for sharing and so nice to have you back also. Got to love this wonderful SOA Collection.

  74. Donna Hawkins says

Such cute cards Ingrid! I love the designs and creativity! I am loving this release and can’t wait to get it in my hot little hands!

  75. Jodi Wayman says

Love your cards! The Christmas one is so creative!

  76. Connie Brooks says

Love your cards Ingrid. Such inspiration. My love of coffee happened at age 17 in jail. Yes, jail. I helped my best friend who was 16 run away from home. We moved into her brothers apartment. Her mom of course blamed me. In jail I drank coffee like no tomorrow. I’m age 73 now, and no longer drink coffee. I drink water mostly. Occassionly, I’ll have tea. Cold or hot depending on weather. I do love a Moscato glass of wine every now and then. I’ve not been jailed since that horrible time back in 1962. I’m a good girl. I did reconnect with my friend who I helped. It was so fun to catch up. By the way, her mom made her move back home so she could continue to make her miserable until she graduated and moved out. It made her stronger and over her adult years, she forgave her mom.

  77. Ingrid I enjoyed your story. It was so descriptive that I could almost picture myself there ordering and then sipping an espresso. Your cards are brilliant and inspiring and I love them all. Thanks for sharing.

  78. Susan White says

i am with you Ingrid! I love my coffee! I love the coffee set in this collection!

  79. Fran Smith says

Love, love, love these cards, My first intro, that I remember, started with a smell. My dad’s job site was down the street from a coffee mfg plant. Wow, the wonderful smells that hung in the air introduced me to the amazing brew.

  80. Gorgeous cards. Each one is just beautiful. Thanks for the different options for the hats. Such a great idea.

  81. Ingrid, all of your cards are so amazing!
We do have the same love affair with coffee
    😉😉😉😉😉
Thank you for the sharing the inspirations!

  82. How fun. You snuck Christmas in and made a great party card. So excited for this kit.

  83. Lacey Willetts says

Thank you for sharing part of your life with us. I could actually smell the coffee shop you were describing. My husband actually got me a french press last year for my birthday and I have never used my Keurig again. I look forward to this SOA. Thank you again for sharing.

    • I chuckled when I read your comment Lacey! Not to offend the Keurig folks out there (all my in-laws too), but I can’t do those. I’m used to the fresh ground beans – nothing better. SO glad you enjoyed that. Cards too! 🙂

  84. Party hats as Christmas trees! Thanks for helping look beyond the obvious and see new ways to stretch my stamp collection.

  85. Love your coffee story and your cards are adorable– I just love them! Thanks for sharing!

  86. Casey Anderson. says

    Love all the creations 🙂

  87. Susan Jennings says

Ingrid – As usual you are SO CREATIVE with your cards – the trees are just adorable… the way you did the cut “in” panel on the party card… you have a very special gift in seeing many facets to every piece! 🙂 Susan aka Hockey PJ

  88. Love your cards…. first time trying coffee was in college – burning the midnight oil and needed something to wake me up the next morning! Achieved a 100% on the exam I studied for (yay)! Especially enjoy the aroma that wafts through the house! BUT – I still need to grab both the coffee and tea sets as I’ll use them both! ((Huggs))

  89. Mary Holshouser says

Great cards. Love the coffee mill. I don’t drink
coffee but I like to see the vintage implements.

  90. Terrific cards! Great layouts and how clever to use the party hats as trees. Love your introduction to coffee! My family always dunked buttered toast in their coffee, similar to cookies and milk. Eating the dunked toast was my introduction to coffee and I still love it today!

  91. Really cute cards and I’m getting ready to start my Christmas cards so great idea. My Grandpa was a big coffee drinker. He was a farmer so coffee was part of his day all day. I can remember going to the farm to visit and the first thing we did was “sit a spell” and have some coffee. Didn’t matter how old you were, just happened. Today I love my Lattes.

  92. You always do an amazing job

  93. Mary Laffin says

so creative. Love these cards and the way you managed to even sneak Christmas in. That party card is outstanding. Can’t wait to get started

  94. Love your story and love your cards. I love coffee. And I do drink some hot tea when the weather turns in Wyoming. I started out drinking coffee very slowly. First out with fiends during working graves. With lots and lots of sugar and creamer. Now I drink one big mug a day. With homemade creamer. Love it. The day doesn’t start before you have a sip of hot coffee. Love all of your cards. And I will be getting the whole set and dies tonight at the pj party. Can’t wait. Love CP and the crew. Keep up the great work.

  95. So creative!! Just ADORE all of this new release!!!

  96. Laura Casselman says

Ingrid, your cards show such nice variety and ways to use other mediums . They’re all so cute!

  97. Vicki Smith says

You are such a sweetheart! Your first card is my favorite of the entire blog hop and you are truly a gifted designer.

  98. You are brilliant, Ingrid!! Love your cards. Yes, you turned the party hats into trees and then decorated them. OMG!!!! I love reading your posts so much. I do not enjoy writing, so I always look up to people who can easily tell a story. My Sister and I would drink postum (instant coffee) with my Grandparents when we were kids. Then I worked as a night auditor for a couple of years while I was attending college. That is pretty much how coffee started for me. Now it has to be good quality coffee otherwise tea is perfect. =)

    • That is so awesome! LOVE your memory Tracie!! I’m with you on the good quality – and some I can’t have as espresso. My Italian first set the bar rather high…lol. I love it that we both did off the wall cards! Yours were amazing too! Thanks for stopping by my friend. 🙂

  99. Alli Shrewsbury says

    Ingrid,
Your cards are always incredibly creative! My favorite today is your story. I got to visit Italy 14 years ago and it’s forever etched in my mind. I had a cup of espresso while I was there and it was the most delectable beverage I’ve ever had. I was surprised when I tasted it, as I was expecting it to be bitter. But it was so smooth and rich…I’m salivating just thinking about it! Thank you for jogging my memory about my best coffee experience (although it wasn’t my first coffee taste ever). Italy…can’t wait to visit that magical country again! Ciao

    • Ahh, che bel ricordo! What a lovely memory!! I hope you get to stop by Italia again soon. Thanks for perusing here today, and reading my little story! Glad you enjoyed the cards Alli! 🙂

  100. Melinda Lowry says

Wow! You always surprise me! I can’t believe you made a Christmas card from these sets. I wish my creative mind could work like yours! I am also partial to the bright colors on Project #3. Aren’t these inks amazing?!?!?!

  101. Ingrid I get butterflies everytime I see your cards. I love how you changed the party hats into Christmas trees and the stencil into snow! Your coffee story was so sweet. I must confess I have never tasted coffee because the smell just doesn’t appeal to me. BUT tea is my fave…especially a good cup of authentic chai tea.

    • Thanks for that amazing compliment Rae! I can’t say Tea appeals to me, mostly cause of the smell – how funny is that! Glad we have our loves though. Enjoy the hop – thanks for always stopping by. 🙂

  102. Loved your cards…and your story! Espresso reminds me of my Uncle Fred and family dinners when I was growing up. He loved a cup after dinner…and would let me take a sip when I was little. Just a shared memory!

  103. Farley Cross says

I love all 3 of your fabulous cards. I also love your coffee/espresso story. I too am a died-in-the-wool espresso drinker and I’m on my 3rd espresso machine. Each morning it is a beloved ritual to grind fresh beans and make my latte. Cheers!

  108. Such a fun post! I’m not sure when I had my first sip of coffee but I know that it was loaded with lots of cream + sugar. I love coffee, have it every morning and love to check out new coffee shops in Seattle.
Your cards are fantastic. Love them all and what a fun twist on the Woohoo set.

    • I drank Seattle’s Best Henry’s Blend for 20+ YEARS as my beans till they disappeared. I was so sad, other than that – Italian beans has always been a go to for me…lol. I love seattle shops. Such a great town. I’m so glad you loved my projects. Thanks for stopping by Amy! 🙂

Your love of coffee shines through on your first card – bella! So cool how you thought outside of the box with the Christmas card – creativo! And I really like the turn of your design of the birthday card – fantastico! Great job, Ingrid. 🙂

My favorite is the Today is your Day card. I love the new ink color too. I can’t wait to get my hands on this box.

  121. Your cards are so gorgeous. I love the extra effort you put into them. I love your history as well. So nice to get to know you. For me, If I’m lucky enough, I’d hope to get in on the tea and coffee collections! They are so exicting!

  122. Your cards are great. No I wasn’t expecting Christmas but way to go. I must say I love coffee so strong that it could almost jump out of the cup and have a life of its own. No dirty colored water for me.

  123. Sabrina Radican says

I love your cards!! Your first one looks so antiquey ! I love that one the most!!

  124. the dots are amazing. so useful and versatile

  125. LOVE these Ingrid!! And I also love your first coffee encounter story! My 1st encounter with coffee was probably drinking the last of my mom’s morning coffee…back when she used milk and sugar. I loved it! Now she drinks it straight up black, but I now prefer lattes myself!! 😊

  126. Love your story. I don’t remember when I tasted my first coffee but when I was dating my husband and he used to drive clear across Denver to take me out for coffee (mostly it was an excuse to see each other during the week). However, in the last few years I have really become addicted. In fact this morning I am off to meet my neighbors for coffee at the Donut Haus.

  127. Love your introduction to coffee story! Your cards are brilliant. Using the WooHoo Stamp set for a Christmas card is very creative. Thank you for all the inspiration.

  128. You are so innovative, love those little party hat trees!

  129. Betsy Calvin says

Wow so much fun seeing the different ideas for the new stamps, dies, borders, and inks!

  130. Elizabeth Roberts says

Ingrid all of your cards are truly inspirational.

  131. I just loved reading your story of your love of Lattes and Cappuccino. Your three different cards really do showcase the stamp sets. I really love the layout of the coffee card. The Christmas card, I would have never thought of this one but I really love the whipped spackle in the background. Your third cards is so fun and festive. I just love the bright cheerful colors and the layout as well.

    • Awe, thanks my friend!!! I’m sure you can picture me at that bar…lol. I have so many off the wall card with that set – it’s interesting how many cool things you can create! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
